A fascinating liqueur from the Marolo distillery, found in the Piedmont region of Northern Italy.
The liqueur is made in a traditional style, with the recipe typical of the Langhe territory, where Barolo wine is produced.
This liqueur is an infusion of Camomile flowers (the same stuff found in teas) with high quality grappa. The flowers are picked at the height of their maturity, and allowed to steep for fully eleven months, ensuring a full expression of their flavour.
The final result is a beautifully floral, sweet and delicious liqueur, with powerful grappa flavours of cut grass, green wood and grapes.
Would make for an interesting floral ingredient in cocktails, but is equally delicious served neat as a digestif.
