A delightful single estate grappa from Marolo distillery, found in the Piedmont region of Northern Italy. Marolo has been in the business of making terroir centric grappa since 1977.
This bottling uses pomace of one of Italy’s most popular red grapes, Barbera. The pomace is gathered from the Pinapolvere winery in the Langhe area of Piedmont. Pinapolvere is overseen by the winemaker Osvaldo Adriano, and has produced some truly delicious red wines over the years.
The pomace is gently distilled in Marolo’s bain marie stills, so as not to destroy the product’s elegant flavours.
The spirit is rested in stainless steel takes to ensure harmony of flavour and prevent oxidization.
A spirituous and youthful grappa, this serves up flavours of red cherries, grapes, green twigs, powdered sugar, dry wine, spice, earth and vanilla.
A vivid encapsulation of the grape’s flavour.
