Marolo grappa were founded in 1977 and have been producing excellent grappa ever since. The distillery places a great emphasis on the importance of terroir with their spirit, producing many single grape variety and single winery offerings.
This bottling has been produced using Vermentino grape pomace from the Liguria region, where it is more commonly known as Pigato. The pomace has been stored in oak barrels for a time, prior to distillation in a single alembic.
The spirit has not been aged in wood, rather rested for a time in stainless steel tanks which prevent oxidation and allow the flavours of the grappa to fully integrate.
The final result is a clear, precise grappa, with notes of dry citrus, grassy herbs, grapes, green wood, spice, lively flowers and some lime juice.
An excellent encapsulation of this grape’s flavour.
