A single estate, single grape grappa from the masterful Marolo distillery, based in Piedmont. Marolo were established in 1977, and place a strong emphasis on the importance of terroir to their grappa.

As such, this grappa is made with pomace of Verdicchio grapes, a white variety native to the Marche area in central Italy. Verdicchio typically produces a highly acidic wine, with notes of lemon and almond. Marolo have chosen pomace from the Villa Bucci winery, which has only 31 hectares of vineyard, and is found in the Marche town of Ostra Vetere.

The pomace has been held in oak barrels prior to distillation in a single alembic. The spirit is not aged at all, having been stored in stainless steel tanks in order to prevent oxidation and allow the flavours to fully harmonise.

The final result is a crystal clear spirit, with a gentle, delicate flavour of toasted nuts, white grapes, vanilla, lemon zest, flowers and peppery spice.
