Another delicious Moscato pomace based grappa from Villa de Varda.
Villa de Varda are located in the Trentino region of Northern Italy. They continue to be family owned by the Dolzan family, and are known for their attention to detail: using extremely fresh pomace and specialty yeasts during fermentation. Distillation occurs in traditional copper discontinuous stills.
This grappa has been aged in oak barrels with a medium char for a minimum of three years.
The final result is a well balanced grappa, with the flavours of the pomace and the oak in perfect harmony. Initially, the spirit opens with bright flavours of funky pomace and grape, soon accompanied by spice, vanilla, dried fruits, oak, toffee, herbs, and some slight pepper.
This grappa is well presented in a smart, contemporary bottle.
