A tasty aged grappa from the family owned Nonino company, who have been distilling since 1897.
Vendemmia translates from the Italian as “grape harvest” and indicates that the grape pomace has been gathered from one growing season. This grappa is made with a blend of pomace from different Friulian grapes.
The pomace is fermented under vacuum in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, which prevent oxidation. After fermentation, the pomace is distilled in discontinuous copper steam stills.
This grappa has been aged for 18 months in a mixture of small former sherry and Limousin oak casks.
The result is a well rounded grappa, with notes of vanilla, pastry, mixed spice, chocolate, bright grape, wine musk, green wood, oak, toffee, dried fruits, tobacco and sherry.
An excellent aged grappa, that stands up well to a cigar. Perfect as a digestif.
