A single grape varietal grappa from the esteemed Friuli distillers, Nonino, a family business who have been in the game since 1897.
This time they have chosen Moscato, or Muscat, grape pomace from selected production zones to make their grappa. This pomace is fermented in vacuum sealed stainless steel tanks to avoid oxidation. The fermented pomace is then distilled in discontinuous copper steam stills.
The grappa is presented without aging, an excellent opportunity to experience a pure flavour of the Muscat grape. Muscat is known sweet, grapey and citrusy flavours, and so it proves with this grappa, which serves up notes of crisp grape, green wood, wine must, lemon, grapefruit, white peach, sage, vanilla and rose.
Deeply fragrant and enjoyable, this is a perfect after dinner drink.
