A high quality single varietal grappa from Marolo distillery.
This grappa has been made using Barolo pomace sourced exclusively from a single vineyard - the Cannubi cru, perhaps the most highly regarded and historic hill in Italian wines. The cru has the perfect climate and conditions for growing grapes – with the angle and altitude of Cannubi allowing for ideal sun exposure.
Marolo’s spirit has been distilled carefully in bain-maries, before being aged for around 10 years in French oak casks that previously held white wines, allowing the natural flavours of the Cannubi pomace to shine through.
The final product is a grappa that offers notes of sweet apples and pears, some strawberry, nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, vanilla, fresh flowers, red grapes, plums, apricots, toffee, some green twigginess, oak and jasmine.
Bottled at 51% ABV, only 1,268 bottles were produced.
