Triple Sec, or Curaçao Orange liqueurs make up some of the oldest recipes in the venerable catalogue of Bols distillery (who have been in the business since 1575).
This bottling pairs Curaçao orange peel distillate with other citrus fruit extracts, including Valencia orange and lemon peel.
The result is a well balanced liqueur, with notes of bittersweet orange, orange sherbet, lemon juice, sharp orange flesh, and a very slight minerality. The palate has an oily, syrupy texture but a surprisingly dry finish.
It is said that Triple Sec features in over half of all classic cocktails, and indeed, this liqueur is required for drinks such as the Margarita, the Sidecar, the Corpse Reviver and the Brandy Crusta.
A must have liqueur for any bar.
