An superb single cask rum from the Plantation brand, this rum was distilled at the legendary Jamaican Long Pond Distillery.
The spirit was made with molasses, that underwent a week of fermentation. Distillation occurred in a Blair Column still in 1998, before the spirit was aged for 20 years in Bourbon barrels under the high humidity and temperatures of the Caribbean.
It was then shipped over to France, where it aged for a further two years in Cognac casks, developing extra complexity and depth. The rum then experienced yet another maturation, spending 10 months in Bardstown Fusion Series Bourbon casks!
The final result is delicately fruity rum with notes of passion fruit, mango and baked apples, alongside apricot, candied ginger, dates, nuts, baking spice, vanilla, tobacco and sandalwood.
Bottled at 47.5% ABV, and with zero dosage or caramel colouring, this is an expertly made rum.
