A classic Italian aperitivo from historic grappa makers, Nardini.

Produced using Chinese rhubarb root as the main flavouring agent. This liqueur is commonly mixed with Nardini Rosso, a red vermouth style liqueur, and a splash of soda water to make a Mezzo-Mezzo (meaning half and half).

The liqueur itself is a deep brown colour, and serves notes of subtly smoked herbs, caramelised fruits, liquorice, rich cola, treacle, dark sugar, oak, bitter herbs and rooty spice.

Whilst the Mezzo-Mezzo is a classic, Rabarbaro would also work well as an interesting alternative to vermouth in cocktails.
