Another excellent rye whiskey from the Journeyman distillery in Michigan.
This bottling is named in honour of George Washington, who rejected proposals to become America’s King following his victory over the British. Alongside being the first President of the USA, Washington also owned one of the fledging nation’s largest whiskey distilleries, producing some 11,000 gallons (over 41,000 litres) by 1799.
Not A King is made with a mashbill of 60% organic rye and 40% organic corn – 100% American!
The whiskey serves up notes of honey, caramel, bananas, rye spice, cinnamon, pepper, subtle oak, milk chocolate and buttered corn.
Delectable! The dram is released in a limited batch every Presidents Day (Third Monday in February).
