A lovely little craft-distilled Bourbon from Journeyman, distilled and bottled in Three Oaks, Michigan. This is another bottling that follows the growing American trend of small-scale production, found outside Bourbon’s Kentucky heartland. Unusually, this whiskey is named after the building in which it was distilled. Featherbone factory was a leather goods manufacturing plant in its former life. This whiskey boasts being both handmade and organic, with a clear commitment to crafting high-quality spirits. Each bottle is numbered as part of a small batch. This Bourbon serves up delicious, spritely youthful notes, with the nose bringing waves upon waves of toasted oak, caramel and nutmeg aromas. The palate is rich and buttery, with flavours of spicy rye, cola nut, golden syrup, vanilla and cigar smoke. The finish is medium, with a little heat and barrel char. Beautifully presented with a wax seal, and bottled at 45% ABV, this is another excellent non-Kentucky Bourbon.
