Honore Fillioux first founded this Cognac-house in 1880. It has been one of the finest estates in the region ever since. Fillioux Cognac remains family owned, and has been for five generations, with the current manager of the house (alongside his son) having held his position for nearly 70 years. The estate has just 63 acres of vineyard, found in the “golden triangle” part of the Grande Champagne cru region, the most prestigious area in the whole Cognac region. This small vineyard means that production is quite small, and stocks relatively low. This beautiful bottling is a 20 year old Cognac, initially designed for sale in the Italian market. This is a small batch Cognac, with a rich, intense flavours of tobacco smoke, toffee, dried fruits and rich oak, boosted by the slightly higher 44% ABV proof. F. Paul Pacult, the highly influential spirits taster at Wine Enthusiast, says of this Cognac: “In a word, it is delightful—highly recommend!”
