A family owned Cognac-Estate based in the “golden triangle”, the most prestigious part of the Grande Champagne cru. Grande Champagne is ranked as the finest cru in Cognac itself, so this makes the “golden triangle” the crème de la crème. Jean Fillioux has been producing some of the best Cognac around since 1880, and have been in the same family for over five generations. Indeed, the current manager (who shares duties with his son) has been in his role since 1948, bringing about 7 decades of experience to the position. The estate has only 63 acres of vineyard, meaning that production is relatively low, and, therefore, stocks are fairly limited. This bottling is a crucial part of the estate’s standard range. It is a young, vibrant and bright Cognac, with delicious, refreshing flavours of rose petals, citrus rind, stone fruit and white grape. A really versatile spirit, this can be drunk neat, used in cooking or made into glorious Cognac cocktails such as the sidecar. Excellent value for money, this should find a place on every bar.
