A gin made in homage to the Gin Craze of the 18th century, through reference to both the 1751 Act of Parliament that brought it to an end, and the Gin Lane drawing by Hogarth that documented it so famously. This gin was created through partnership between the Bloomsbury Club (an upscale bar in central London) and Charles Maxwell of Thames Distillers. It is a reflection of how gin was in the Victorian age, with a simple, juniper forward profile. Indeed, in stark contrast to current gin trends, this offering has only 8 botanicals: orris, lemon, orange, angelica, coriander, juniper, star anise and cassia bark. These are classic gin ingredients, producing a spirit of superb balance between spice and citrus. This gin is bottled at the higher strength of 47% ABV, ensuring that the flavours reach their full potential and that the gin is never lost in even the most complex of cocktails. As ever with Gin Lane bottles, this is fantastic value for money.
