A tremendously mature blended whisky from the famous old house of Dewar’s.
Part of their Double Double range, this whisky goes through no less than four different aging steps: being aged separately, blended together, aged again, then finished in Sherry casks.
This well aged whisky has been finished in Palo Cortado Sherry casks. Palo Cortado is a kind of hybrid Sherry that sits somewhere between Oloroso and Amontillado – rarely used in the production of whisky.
The finished dram serves up tonnes of deep complexity, with notes of flowers, honeyed peaches and apples, vanilla, milk chocolate, cinnamon, toasted malt, sweet grain, nuts, old oak, dry white wine and sweet grapes.
Bottled at 46% ABV, this dram has a good level of depth and complexity.
