A classic blended whisky from Dewar’s, who have been in the business since 1846. This bottle was previously known as double aged, due to their practice of allowing the whisky to marry for a period of 6 months in exhausted casks after individual aging. This makes a considerable difference to the whisky’s eventual flavour, ensuring that its constituent parts are full integrated. The result is a better balanced and well rounded whisky, with excellent harmony between the malt portions (based around malt whisky from Aberfeldy, Craigellechie, Aultmore and Royal Brackla) and the sweet grain portions. None of the whiskies in this blend were any younger than 12 years old. A classic blend for a reason, offering consistent quality at an excellent price.
