Once again, the good folk over at Cane Island have served up a cracker of a Single Estate rum.

This time round it’s a lovely Trinidadian rum from the historic Angostura distillery (yes, the same people who make the bitters), located in the town of Laventille. The spirit has been distilled in a column still, and aged for 8 years in American White Oak casks. This is a genuine 8 year old spirit, as opposed to a Solera matured rum.

This rum has a classic, light column-still-style body, with bright notes of tropical fruit, toffee, vanilla, wood spice and clear white sugar. The rum benefits from the bump in proof, up to 43% ABV.

A delicious independently bottled rum, this shows the Angostura spirit at its very best.
