An absolutely tremendous sloe gin produced by Abelforth’s, the in-house distilling company of Master of Malt.
This gin is made with cold compounded sloe berries, nearly half a pound (220 grams) are used per bottle. The gin is made with a traditional mixture of botanicals including: juniper, orange peel, coriander, cassia, cloves and cardamom.
The gin is distilled in a copper pot still, making for a pure and characterful spirit.
The result is a nutty, citrusy sloe gin, with a beautiful natural sweetness, and notes of vanilla, wine-like tannins and rich, earthy spice.
Abelforth’s suggest serving this with tonic, or using it in place of Maraschino in a Martinez cocktail, or even serving it warm and mulled during the winter.
The gin is wonderfully presented in Abelforth’s distinctive apothecary style brown paper and string bottle.
