Paradyswyn (literally, “Paradise Wine”) is sometimes referred to as “the malt whisky of the genever world”, but Rutte insist that it is entirely its own thing, one of a kind.
This is a genever made with a base of 100% malt wine. Only the finest barrels of genever, that have aged in the most auspicious area of Rutte’s barrelroom (known as “Paradise” by distillery staff and the Rutte family), are selected to be included in this bottling.
The spirit is flavoured with fruits, spice and botanicals, including: juniper, angelica, coriander seed, raspberry, cherry and apple.
The final result is a richly flavoured, decadent genever with notes of tropical fruit, apricot, nuts, malt, fresh apples, juniper, earthy spice, red berries, oaky spice and vanilla.
A terrific bottling, first introduced by John Rutte, the company’s 7th generation of Master Distiller.
