An interested peated offering from Welsh distillery Penderyn.

Whilst the malt itself is not peated for this dram, the whisky is matured for a time in casks that previously held Islay whisky, after an initial maturation in former Bourbon casks.

The result is a malty, subtly smoky whisky with notes of bright lemon, toffee, apples, gentle maritime peat smoke, slight iodine, vanilla, slight spice, and pears.

The spirit is bottled at 46% ABV and without chill filtration, resulting in a satisfying, full bodied whisky.

Just 5,000 bottles of this Welsh single malt were produced.
