A cracking Swedish dram from Mackmyra distillery.

This single malt whisky has been inspired by the traditional Swedish way of preserving fish or meat, by smoking it over juniper.

As such, Identitet has been made with barley smoked by both peat and juniper wood. After distillation, the spirit has been matured in 30% Virgin Swedish oak casks, imparting a concentrated oaky flavour to the whisky.

The final product is a smoky whisky with a distinctly Swedish soul, and rather a unique character.

Identitet offers notes of intense peat smoke, oranges, vanilla, roasted nuts, juniper berries, some gin-like botanical notes, ginger, more orange rind, cinnamon, peppery woodsmoke, charred oak and malt.

Identitet translates from Swedish as ‘identity’ - and that’s what this whisky reflects: Mackmyra’s proudly Swedish identity, and increasingly independent style of spirit.

Bottled at a robust 48.7% ABV, this is an intense and full bodied whisky.
