Another extraordinary Cognac from indubitably one of the finest producers in the entire industry. Jean Fillioux have been making some of the best quality Cognac around since their foundation by Honore Fillioux way back in 1880. The company continues to be family owned, with the current manager the fourth generation of the family to hold the role, having done so for nearly 70 years. The vineyard itself is just 63 acres in size, and is found entirely within the “golden triangle” of the Grande Champagne cru – the most fertile land in the Cognac region. As the vineyard is quite small, production is low and stocks small, making every bottle that bit more exclusive. This is perhaps one of the very finest in the estate’s range, a Cognac that has enjoyed long, slow aging in the finest French Oak casks, nestled in the estate’s cellars. This process of maturation has created subtle, intense and rich flavours of cigar smoke, pressed flowers, dried fruit and spices. This Cognac comes complete with a handsome presentation box in royal blue. Reviewing this bottling, Spirit Journal magazine gave it five stars, and the “Highest Recommendation” award. Truly a special spirit, and not one that Cognac fans should miss out on.
