A gin that has exploded in popularity in recent years. Scotland can stake a good claim for being one of the leaders of the recent gin revival, with Hendrick’s leading the charge. This is another excellent gin, distilled in the nation’s capital. Interestingly enough, this gin uses milk thistle and heather (two of Scotland’s symbolic plants) as botanicals, creating a creamy, herbaceous and well-rounded spirit. The distillery also uses fresh juniper, coriander, citrus peel and orris root, giving the bright, citrusy flavour we associate with gin. Edinburgh Gin describes itself as “a taste of Edinburgh” and certainly the final product has all the bustle and sophistication of that great city!
