Whilst silver is usually associated with second place, this Montifaud Cognac shows that it can signify the very best with this first-rate XO Cognac.
Montifaud are highly valued for their commitment to producing superb spirits. A family owned company since 1866, the managing Vallet family bring six generations of experience to the distillery.
As Montifaud suggest themselves, this superb Cognac is a result of attention to detail during the growing, distilling and maturation process. This begins with the Montifaud Vineyard, ideally placed on flat land which gets lots of sun, and rich in chalky soil which provides the perfect level of acidity to the fruit.
XO Silver has been aged in French oak casks for at least 6 years (the minimum required by French law). Yet, the likelihood is that this Cognac is a little older than that, given the distillery’s penchant for aging their spirit for longer than is required. This Cognac will have been aged in the Montifaud cellars, which have a cool and dry climate, perfect for slow, long aging of fine Cognacs.
The Cognac is presented in a bottle design that combines tradition and contemporary stylings, with a bold, silver label. Each bottle comes complete with a striking presentation tube. All in all, this is another excellent Montifaud Cognac, that will appeal to every fan of fine spirits!
Producer's tasting notes:
This Cognac comes from the vineyard at the Montifaud Chateau located in Petite Champagne. Its amber colour, its aromas of dried fruits, vanilla, and finely blended spices, are a sign of its strength and elegance. XO Silver is the result of a balanced blend, oak aging and being bottled in the Chateau.
