Chateau de Montifaud’s Clemence Cognac range is easily identified for its striking, and rather spooky, packaging. Featuring a gargoyle-like demon on the gift box, this is certainly not a Cognac that will get lost in your collection.
Whilst the packaging might be monstrous, the spirit itself is anything but. This is a delicious VSOP Cognac, that has been aged for between 8 to 10 years, giving it a little more complexity than the average spirit in this grade. The Cognac is matured in French oak casks, hidden away in Montifaud’s cellars, which have the perfect dry and cool climate for long maturation of spirit.
This aging process has produced a delicious spirit, rich in traditional Cognac flavours of sweet grape, polished oak, flowers and nuts. Some dried fruit, coconut and oily aromas are welcome additions that point to Montifaud production.
Another excellent bottling from these highly respected distillers, proving again that their reputation is well-earned.
