First founded in 1825 by Pierre-Auguste Boulard, Boulard have made a high quality of Calvados ever since. A family-run company, the current head distiller Vincent Boulard (whose name is featured on this bottling) is the great great grandson of the distillery’s founder.
This Calvados has been made with Pays D’Auge apples. The bottling is a blend of three to six year old eau-de-vie, with maturation occurring in French oak casks.
The result is a fruit forward spirit, possessing notes of apples, pear, vanilla, pressed flowers, soft spice, toffee, oak, coconut, milk chocolate and slight dried fruits.
An excellent apple-y dram, that would be ideal served to sharpen the appetite before a meal.
