Cognac Bertrand’s rendition of this popular western French aperitif.
This Pineau is made with a blend of 75% fresh pressed white grape juice with 25% 1 year old eaux-de-vie.
The bottling has been made with Ugni Blanc & Colombard grapes grown in the chalky soil of Petite Fine Champagne. The vines themselves have been established for as long as 80 years, and no less than 25, ensuring that they produce a flavoursome grape with great concentration. After blending, this liqueur is aged in Limousin oak casks for a further five years, developing extra depth and complexity.
The final result is a sweet, fresh and floral aperitif that serves up notes of pears, apples, figs, honey, subtle oaky spice and green apple sweetness.
Serve this pineau chilled from the fridge. Pairs well with cheese or pâté.
