An absolutely delicious Single Malt whisky from Indian distillery’s Amrut! This whisky takes their classic unpeated, Indian barley, ex-bourbon barrel matured whisky and finishes it for a period in port pipes from Duoro in Portugal. This whisky is served up at a robust cask strength of 62.1% ABV, without colouring or chill filtration. The result is a whisky of outstanding flavour, packed with pudding and chocolate notes. On the nose the drinker is immediately greeted with rich red fruit notes of cherry, strawberry and plum. With the plate deep fruity sweetness takes hold, balanced perfectly with oakier notes of wood-spice and toasted cask. The finish is long and lingering, with a dense, luxurious jammy quality, confirming this dram as the ideal after dinner whisky.
