Another lovely single malt whisky from Indian producers Amrut. Raj Igala takes its name from the Punjabi phrase meaning The King of the Eagles. This whisky is entirely produced from Indian barley grown at the base of the Himalayas. It is wholly matured in former Bourbon American oak barrels. Due to the climate of India, Amrut’s whisky develops incredible complexity and intensity in a shorter maturation period. This dram offers up lovely vanilla rich and woodspice full flavours, with a dense malty toffee note at its core. Raj Igala represents a great opportunity to get to grips with the house-style of Amrut and the flavour of Indian Barley. A small batch production, this is unlikely to stick around.
Smooth and lovely. A veery good one
