A punchy port cask whisky from Indian single malt distillers, Amrut.
This peated dram has been aged in a single port pipe, and was originally bottled for world famous Parisian whisky shop, La Maison du Whisky.
The combination of peat and port is one of our favourites here at Fine Drams, and this is an excellent example of the style.
Drinkers can expect notes of rich, smoked plums and cherries, blackcurrants, fudgy peat, earthy dried spices, cedarwood, charred oak, raspberries, some weighty malt, cinnamon, peach, nutmeg, cloves, almond, red wine and orange peel.
The whisky is presented at a fearsome 62.8% ABV, and without chill filtration or colouration, ensuring the spicy, fruity nature of this dram is entirely unencumbered.
Simply put, one of the best whiskies we’ve encountered from Amrut.
