A name that will be familiar to any readers or watchers of the Jungle Book, Amrut Bagheera takes its title from the Hindi word for black panther.

The spirit itself is made with 99% unpeated barley, and 1% peated barley, and finished for a time in a sherry cask.

A marvellous dram from the Indian distillery, that offers up notes of toasted nuts, vanilla, toffee, apricot, orange, peach, light oak and a faint smoky warmth. The peat is not really aggressive on the palate, but works almost like seasoning, adding depth and complexity to this whisky.

The spirit is bottled at 46% ABV and without chill filtration.
