This bourbon whisky is distilled at the small craft distillery, Valentine Distilling Company, in the state of Michigan. They were one of the first craft distilleries in America, and when they started there were only a handful of other craft distilleries – now there’s over 400! They do things by hand, which means no computers are involved. Everything from the cut of the spirit to when the product is ready for bottling is decided by their brilliant mastermind, Rifino Valentine.
This bourbon whiskey is made from a traditional mash of corn, barley, and rye, double distilled in their 650 liter Christian Carl still, and aged for no less than 4 years in maple-infused, American oak casks. The end results is characterized by sweet notes of caramel, maple syrup, and brown sugar which complements its rye- and wood spiciness. A brilliant bourbon from one of the pioneers of American craft distilling.
