Another excellent Bourbon from Woodford Reserve. The Master’s Collection honours former owner Oscar Pepper and former Master Distiller James Crow, who pioneered many innovative techniques in whiskey making in the early 1800s. The pair are said to have refined the process of sour mashing, yeast propagation, copper pot distillation, and maturing. This whiskey is the 9th release in the series, finishing the whiskey in Pinot Noir casks from the famous Sonoma-Cutrer winery in Sonoma county, California. The wine is known for its rich, deep and complex fruity flavours, with elegant floral high notes. These pair perfectly with the robust vanilla and toffee notes that Woodford is known for. The Bourbon is bottled at a hefty 45.2% ABV, allowing these flavours to really come to life. Finished Bourbons remain something of a rarity, so drinkers will want to take the opportunity to try this beauty!
