The third small batch release from recent addition to the Scotch whisky industry, Woflburn. This release follows on from No. 128 and No. 270, which had similar, yet slightly different maturations.
Wolfburn is the most northerly distillery on the Scottish mainland, found a little above Pulteney.
For this release, the whisky has been matured for four and a half years in half size, 100 litre, first fill Bourbon casks, before a finishing period in Oloroso sherry hogsheads.
This dram offers a classic Sherry-Bourbon profile, with notes of corn sweetness, vanilla, dried fruit, spice, oily nuts, some apple and pear, maple, caramel, ginger, light oak, milky coffee, cream, and rich dessert wine.
The whisky is bottled at 46% ABV, and without chill filtration or artificial colouration, allowing its natural characteristics to shine through.
A small batch release, No. 375 was limited to just 5,500 bottles worldwide.
