An exciting new addition to recently established distillery Wolfburn’s range. Wolfburn has stolen Old Pulteney’s claim of being the most northerly distillery on the mainland of Scotland.
This single malt whisky is lightly peated, demonstrating a new side to the distillery’s spirit. The two other releases from Wolfburn have been the heavily sherried “Aurora”, and the classic north Highland “Northland” malt. This whisky sits closer to the latter, giving the same coastal, mineralic, slightly waxy North Highland style (think Clynelish, Old Pulteney, even Brora), with light ashy peat.
Morven is bottled at 46% ABV, and is free from chill filtration or colouration. This allows the full mouthfeel and natural flavours of the whisky to take hold. An excellent dram from a new distillery which is exciting and impressive in equal measure.
