A high quality Champagne from Piper-Heidsieck, a champagne house that dates back to 1785.
The Maison remains family owned, and current cellar master (or Chef de Cave) Émilien Boutillat has maintained the house’s high standards.
This bottling is a Blanc de Blanc, meaning it contains 100% white grapes, in this case, the wine is made entirely from Chardonnay grapes. The bottling has been partly based on the 2013 vintage (regarded as an excellent Chardonnay vintage), and includes some reserve wines, giving the final product a little more balance and complexity.
This Champagne has medium, persistent bubbles, with a strong mousse. The wine serves up notes of Mirabelle plums, pears, sultanas, subtle minerality and Chardonnay butteriness, lemon zest and almonds.
This bottling has an acidity of 6.3 grams per litre, and a residual sugar of 4 grams per litre. The Champagne is presented at 12% ABV.
A perfect pairing for light chicken and fish dishes.
