An old fashioned Irish single pot still whiskey from new distillery Hinch.

Hinch are based in County Down, near the village of Ballynahinch, from where they take their name. The distillery was opened in 2019.

The mashbill for this whiskey includes oats, malted and unmalted barley, creating a creamy, chewy final product. The spirit was largely matured in Bourbon casks, with a small amount aged in sherry casks.

The result is a grassy, bright Irish single pot still with notes of citrus rind, honeyed cream, grassy malt, porridge, dried fruits, slight spice, pepper, and vanilla oak.

Hinch Single Pot Still is bottled at 43% ABV, giving it a little more body and depth.
