A top-notch bottling from grossly underrated distillery Glencadam. This bottling has been given the title “the Remarkable” by the distillery.
Glencadam place a great emphasis on reflux and copper contact when distilling, producing a lighter, floral new make.
A quarter century of maturation in former Bourbon casks has produced a dram of staggering complexity and depth.
The result is a buttery, full-bodied spirit, that offers up notes of cooked white peaches, golden syrup, old oak, caramel, slight salinity, leather, hazelnuts, mango, guava, dark chocolate, almonds, ginger biscuits, toasted malt, peppery spice, cornbread, vanilla, raspberries, pot pourri, cinnamon, a little lemon rind, and some powdered sugar.
Crisp and dignified yet delicate, this whisky has been bottled at 46% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration.
Remarkable by name, and by nature!
