The second bottling in François Voyer’s Cask Experience range.

This “spirit drink” has been made using a base of Cognac from the Grand Champagne cru, that has been finished in American rye whiskey casks from the Reservoir Distillery, from Richard Virginia. The spirit has a total age of 8 years.

The spirit itself is 100% brandy from the French region of Cognac, but the finishing period in non-French casks means it can no longer be labelled a “Cognac”.

The end product is a fascinating brandy, with notes of sweet grapes, vanilla, almonds, flowers and sandalwood balanced perfectly against rye spice, toffee, fresh bread and subtle herbs.

A wonderful flavour combination of Cognac’s fruit and flowers, with rye’s herbaceous spiciness.
