A beautiful limited edition bottling from the venerable François Voyer Cognac house.
François Voyer, who have been making Cognac since the 1870s, prove they are still capable of experimentation with this bottling. Unlike the vast majority of Cognac bottlings, this offering has been finished for a period in new American oak barrels, following an initial French oak cask maturation. In total, this Grande Champagne Cognac has been aged for 8 years.
The final result is a noticeably Bourbon-influenced Cognac, with rich notes of crème caramel, apricots, vanilla, bright oak, bananas, milk chocolate, dried fruits, flowers, and a little French oak spiciness.
The Cognac has been bottled at 43.1% ABV for a little more body and depth, and is presented without chill filtration.
Limited to just 620 bottles.
