Consistently regarded as one of the finest rums on the market today, this bottling sits close to the top of El Dorado’s range.
Unlike many other rum brands, El Dorado’s rums follow the Scotch-style age statement rules, meaning that all the spirit in this bottling is a minimum of 21 years old. This is in stark contrast to the solera systems often encountered in the rum world.
21 years is a extraordinarily long time for a rum to be matured, and the result is a spirit of outstanding flavour, depth and character. El Dorado 21 serves up notes of caramel chocolate, dark tropical fruits, with dense dried fruit flavours, treacle tart, cigar smoke, burnt sugar, oily nuts, flowers and wood spice.
Bottled at the slightly higher strength of 43% ABV, this gives the rum something of an edge.
An extraordinary achievement from El Dorado, their 21 year old has some wide acclaim from drinkers and critics alike.
