An incredibly popular 12 year old rum from the Diamond distillery in Guyana. This distillery makes use of the only wood pot-stills and column stills in the distilling industry, purchased from the Royal Navy. Guyanese rum long provided the base of the Navy’s rum blends. The rum is of a dense, sweet and heavy Demerara style, dark in colour and thick in mouthfeel. Unlike many other producers, El Dorado use a scotch-style age statement system, with the age on the label representing the youngest spirit used in the blend. A really delicious and decadent rum, that has picked up gold medals at the Caribbean Rum Taste Test in 7 of the 10 competitions thus far. Makes a beautiful rum old fashioned.
