A frankly ridiculously good value rum from the Foursquare distillery on Barbados! Doorly’s 5 Year is produced by Richard Seale, the same man behind the esteemed R.L. Seale Rum brand. As a distiller he is renowned for his exacting standards and his refusal to add any additional sugar or colouring to his rum. Rather, he prefers to use high-quality casks and patient aging to produce a sweet, complex and decadent rum. Doorly’s 5 years is no exception, having been aged entirely in ex-Bourbon barrels for no less than 5 years. The rum is a blend of rich and heavy pot still rum, and light, aromatic column still rum, which makes for an excellently balanced spirit. Featuring a resplendent Scarlet Macaw on the bottle, this rum always stands out, both in flavour and looks. A great rum to sip neat, or to add to cocktails for a little luxury.
