Another beautiful Rum Agricole from Guadeloupian distillery Damoiseau. The company have been producing superb rums at their Bellevue Distillery since 1942, and have maintained this high quality ever since. This is a particularly delicious expression from Damoiseau that has been aged for a minimum of 6 years in former Bourbon American white oak barrels. The tropical climate of the French West Indies means that spirit matures a lot faster, developing an incredibly intense flavour in a fair shorter time than more milder climates. This X.O. bottling is decadent and luxurious, with notes of tobacco spice, cinnamon, burnt orange and fragrant sugar cane. Presented in a classy understated bottle, this is best enjoyed neat on a warm evening.
