A cracking 8 year old Rum Agricole from Guadeloupian company Damoiseau. This rum is no longer produced by the distillery, so supply of it is very limited. Guadeloupe is found in the French West Indies, and Damoiseau have been producing superb rum since the foundation of their Bellevue distillery in 1942. Rum Agricole differs from other rum varieties as it uses only the fermented juice of the cane itself, creating a fragrant and grassy spirit. This rum has been aged for 8 years in former Bourbon American White oak casks. The tropical climate of Guadeloupe means that the rum develops extraordinary depth of flavour in just a short time, with a superbly rich bouquet of flowers and fruits, and a palate dark sweet cane juice and a little vanilla. This is a decadent and delicious rum, beautifully presented in a decanter style bottling. One that every rum drinker will want to try.
