The first in what is sure to prove to be an interesting series from Bowmore. The Vault Editions are going to take a look at the different qualities of whiskies aging in their No. 1 Vault, thought to be the oldest whisky warehouse still operation today.
This first bottling gives a prominent role to the sea spray rolling in from the Atlantic onto the ancient old warehouse. And indeed, this whisky has a distinctive maritime edge to it, whilst still prominently showcasing the classic tropical fruits and citrus smoke of Bowmore.
Fans of the old Tempest series will like this dram, as it is bottled at a hefty 51.5% ABV, and has been matured in former Bourbon American oak casks.
A lovely little dram, we will be following this series very closely!
