One of the stalwarts of Bowmore’s range, this whisky dates back to 2007.
Well matured, with 15 years of aging under its belt, this dram spends its last three years finishing in Oloroso sherry casks, which lends the whisky some lip-smacking fruity flavours.
This whisky serves up notes of grilled pineapple and mango, dried fruit, fudgy peat, vanilla, piney oak, oily walnut, toffee, sea spray, dates, coffee, crunchy malt, rich sherry and slight almond.
Old school Bowmore, with plenty of peaty tropical fruit notes, this bottling will appeal to long standing fans of the distillery.
Bowmore 15 is a multi-award winning dram, having picked up Gold in the 2018 Scotch Whisky Masters, and another Gold in the 2019 Scottish Whisky Awards.
My first foray into Islay whiskies and what a pleasure it was to drink. No overpowering peatiness and pleasantly sweet. Worth a try
