A wonderful little bottle set from Bowmore.

This gift set sees Bowmore pair a bottle of its stalwart core bottling, Bowmore 12 year old, with two sample sized bottles of other fine offerings in its range.

Bowmore 12 year old is a much loved expression that is an excellent introduction in Bowmore’s medium peated style. Full of tropical fruit, vanilla, and peaty maritime notes, this is a long-time favourite of Islay malt drinkers.

The two other whiskies that make up the set are not to be sniffed at either – though we do recommend nosing them! Bowmore No. 1 was released to celebrate the No. 1 Vaults at Bowmore, said to be the oldest whisky maturation warehouse in Scotland. Drawn entirely from first fill Bourbon casks, this gives the peaty whisky a remarkably deep, sweet and fudgy vanilla flavour.

The other sample is of Bowmore 15 year old Sherry Finish, a recent addition to the Bowmore line up. This sees Bowmore’s wonderful peaty spirit finished for a time in sherry casks, giving it a remarkably dried fruit and baking spice flavour that is perfect for the winter months.

This is a wonderful set, with the full bottle providing a top-quality peaty daily drinker, and the samples offering the chance to try something a little different, without committing to the full bottle. Would make a great gift any Islay fan.
